BIRTH by Karen Brody is a play centred on true stories of birth. It is based on over 100
personal interviews that the playwright conducted with women about their true birth experiences.
Presented by the Chebucto Family Centre, the Halifax presentation of Karen Brody’s play BIRTH is directed
by Ann-Marie Kerr and is performed by a cast made up of local doulas. The play is a powerful and
hilarious account of birth experiences of eight women that is sure to inspire audiences about the birth
experience.
Come join us for a one-of-kind event night of live Halifax theatre, wine and conversation at the Bella Rose Arts
Centre. Tickets are $25 and are available by phone or online and at the door. A silent auction will also be held, so be sure to check out all available items.
This is fundraiser event with all proceeds going to the Chebucto Family Centre, a service of the Home of the Guardian Angel located on Sylvia Avenue in the Spryfield area.
